Donaghcloney Old Graveyard
This old graveyard is situated on a mound above the River Lagan. It's clear to see that the site was once a reasonably large ring fort, well sited just above the river. The previously circular site was altered by the building of the road. The oldest known gravestone dated from 1707, but many of the oldest stones are sadly no longer obvious or legible. The following inscriptions are or were on headstones in the graveyard. Photos of headstones follow beneath.

About
Hello everyone - I am a passionate family historian resident in Perth, Western Australia. I have family from Brackagh and other close by areas - Names are JOYCE and BLACK and I also have my WHITE family from Donegal. I also have family from Kerry (NELLAN, NELAN, NEYLON etc) and Cork (CUTTLE and ROSS) all imigrated to New Zealand, where I was also born.
I am keen to connect with cousins and others who share my interest in writing family stories, and obtaining historical and social background to understand and appreciate my past family better. My online name is 'Comma' and you can call me Louise as well!
